INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Food coloring various colors
  • Frosting your choice
  • Decorative sprinkles

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. 2 In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3 Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. 4 Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. 5 In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. 6 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. 7 Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each to create different colors.
  8. 8 Spoon the colored batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
  9. 9 Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. 10 Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  11. 11 Decorate with frosting and sprinkles as desired.
