INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries chopped
  • 1 package of pie crusts
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Oil for frying
  • powdered sugar additional for dusting

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. 1 In a bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. 2 Fold in the chopped strawberries.
  3. 3 Roll out the pie crusts and cut them into circles.
  4. 4 Place a spoonful of the cheesecake mixture in the center of each circle.
  5. 5 Fold the crust over and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. 6 Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  7. 7 Fry the pies until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. 8 Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. 9 Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
